Emily Nugent is a 2017 senior at John Glenn High School and a Spokesmodel for Tosha Cole Photography. Since she was four years old, Emily has been involved in and extremely passionate about all star cheerleading. While cheering, Emily won countless awards and medals and quickly adopted the drive and ambition to be a leader.
During her junior year she made the brave decision to join the Army National Guard.
"I wanted to make it better for my family and their future. Even if that means putting my own life on the line. As a woman in the National Guard, I feel that everyone deserves equality and what is a better way to fight for that, than to serve our beautiful country!" said Emily when she was ask why she joined the National Guard. Emily and her cheer coach, and mother, Tara Wieland, truly feel that the life lessons she learned as an all star cheerleader helped her make the decision to enlist and want to be a leader.
Currently, Emily cheers for Michigan Storm. She will leave for basic training in July of 2017. When she returns in October she hopes to continue to be involved with all star cheerleading in any way possible.
I would like to thank Emily, and all of the men and women who serve our country, for their continued selfless bravery!

I love it cheerleading has really helped me in my career. I learned so much in cheer that I was able to put into my career and help me for the better. Off the bat I stood out because I knew what it's like to be part of a team. And I showed leadership. I love the Army and love cheer and what it's done to get me so far in my career. :) you go, Emily!
