The word YES is such an important word to hear. While many times we think of the word YES as simply an approval of something we can also venture to think of it as a way of life or a way to run your business. Growing up we heard the word NO from so many people. "Mom, can I have this candy?", "NO", "Boss, can I take Saturday off?", "NO", etc... We hear this so much that we start to mold our own thoughts and questions into the word NO. "Should I take the leap and start my own business?", "NO (for whatever the reasons are)", "Should I invest in something I don't exclty know what the outcome will be?", "NO", etc... I feel like in like and in business you must take chances. You must dive in, whole-heartedly, and say YES, once in a while.
I am so excited to say that hopefully soon within the next year or two I will be taking the financial and psycological leap into taking my business to the next step, opening a studio space. I have been thinking about this for a long time and I'm getting closer and closer. Obviously, once the baby comes along I will focus on him but I don't want to lose this dream therefore I have set 2 goals in place.
Goal 1: By the summer I want to at least have an office space where I can hold client consultations and ordering sessions.
Goal 2: I want that same space to have the potential to have small portrait sessions (meaning senior head shots, babies and children and possibly mini sessions).
I'm sure there are a lot more goals that I will be reaching once this rolls around but at least I have the basics. I'm so excited about it and hopefully with this studio space I will be able to be a full time photographer and mother.
If you've ever taken the leap and done something that you're heart said YES but your brain kept saying NO then please feel free to share!
